untreated hypertension

High blood pressure remains untreated when it is not lowered to normal physiologic levels. This includes individuals unaware of having high blood pressure and those receiving suboptimal treatment. This  can lead to serious health  and life threatening complications.

Lethal outcomes of uncontrolled hypertension

In most cases damage from high blood pressure (hypertension) happens over time. If not detected and controlled, high blood pressure can lead to:

  • Heart attack. Stroke.
  • Heart failure.
  • Kidney disease or failure.
  • Vision loss.
  • Sexual dysfunction.
  • Heart disease.
  • Atherosclerosis (plaque buildup in the arteries).
